With just a week to go until Portsmouth Bubble Rush, fundraisers at Naomi House & Jacksplace are encouraging families from Portsmouth and the surrounding area to sign up for the foam-filled family fun run which will take place at Southsea Common on Saturday 11th May.

Bubble Rush is a fun run with a difference: It starts in a sea of foam, and along the course are four bubble stations pumping out masses of coloured bubbles. It’s not a race, the event isn’t timed and there’s no pressure to run. The two-lap course is pushchair and wheelchair-friendly, so everyone in the family can take part.

Over 1400 people have already signed up to take part, and registration closes on Thursday (9th May) at midday. The 11am start wave is already sold out, however there are still places available for the second wave, which starts at midday. There is no minimum fundraising requirement to take part, but Naomi House & Jacksplace are asking people to get sponsored or make a donation to show their support for the work of the charity.

Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices provide expert hospice care to more than 525 life limited and life threatened children, young adults and their extended families from Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Berkshire, West Sussex, Surrey and the Isle of Wight. The charity needs to raise £8.5 million a year to help provide care for local families who need it most. This includes respite and emergency care, end-of-life care and ongoing bereavement support, provided thanks to a dedicated nursing and family support team.

Tickets for Portsmouth Bubble Rush can be purchased online until Thursday 9th May. The entry price includes a Bubble Rush t-shirt to wear at the event and a finisher’s medal.
