Bubbles, coloured foam and a fun run for all the family- What to expect as a first-time Bubbler
We are so excited that so many people have signed up for a Bubble Rush this summer and can’t wait to welcome you to the fun run through coloured bubbles. If you’re a first time ‘bubbler’ and are wondering what you’ve let yourself in for here’s our quick guide to the foamy 5k.
What’s not to love about running, walking or dancing through a 4ft bubble bath?
Whatever your reason for signing up to take part in Bubble Rush we want you to have a memorable day. If you’re new to running there’s no need to panic about being race ready, you’re not racing against the clock. If you’re giving the kids a first attempt at a 5k you can take it at their pace, there’s no pressure to run. If your motivation is to raise money for your favourite charity we can assure you that the fun-run through coloured bubbles is not your typical fundraising event.
The fun starts in the Bubble village!
We make sure you are more than prepared to join in the foamiest 5k from your very first steps into the event village. Once you’ve registered and collected your Bubble Rush t-shirt it’s time to get in the mood for the foam party! You can visit the Incredibubble which is filled with bubble gum smelling bubbles, enjoy a pre-Bubble Rush drink or snack or just soak up the party atmosphere. You can snap away and capture every moment at Bubble Rush – head to the selfie tent where you and your team can get the perfect ‘before-the-bubbles’ picture. And don’t forget to say hello to our mascot, Finn the Bubble Fish; but watch out – he’s just waiting to photo-bomb your selfies!
Look the part!
There’s no dress code at Bubble Rush – but colourful outfits are encouraged and so is fancy dress. Your t-shirt will be white when you start, but you’ll finish all colours of the rainbow! Don’t worry if you leave outfit planning till last minute- Bubble Rush merchandise will be on sale in the event village, so you can rock a pair of sunglasses, a colourful headband or even a sun visor to really look the part of a bubbler!
Get ready to bubble…
Shortly before your start time we’ll get you over to the stage to prepare you for the bubbles! After a welcome from the charity it’s time for a warm up. Nothing to fear here, it’s usually a Zumba-style or fun dance routine to get the muscles warmed up: You don’t have to take part, but it’s usually hard to resist joining in!
Then it’s time for everyone to head over to the start line. That’s where you’ll first encounter the bubbles. There’s no better way to prepare for the bubble stations than giving you bubbles straight away, right?!
The klaxon goes and then comes the best bit – taking on the coloured bubbles! Around the course you’ll encounter our four colourful bubble stations filled with pink, blue, yellow and green bubbles. Most of our courses are two laps of a 2.5k course, so you go through each station twice! The bubble stations are giant inflatables filled up to 4 feet deep with bright coloured foam. Take your time and enjoy getting covered!
Once you’ve crossed the finish line you’ll receive your medal. Then it’s time to pose for some ‘after-the-bubbles’ photos and celebrate your achievement – you’ve just done a 5k!
