We’re super-excited to be bringing Bubble Rush to Leicester!
Bubble Rush is a fun run with a difference – lots of coloured bubbles!
You’ll start in a sea of foam and then take on four different coloured bubble stations, where foam canons create an incredi-bubble 4ft bubble bath!
It’s not a race! You can run, walk, toddle or dance your way around the family-friendly course. The most important thing is that you finish with a smile on your face! 🙂
The event isn’t timed, so you’re not racing against anyone and there’s no time limit.
Bubble Rush is for everyone!
Bubble Rush is perfect for families and groups of all ages and abilities.
The course is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and there’s no minimum or maximum age limit.
The course is two laps of 2.5km, meaning that you’ll go through each bubble station twice – that’s DOUBLE the BUBBLES!
And new for 2020 – we’ve added bubbles to the finish too!
Bubble Rush – Leicester is organised in partnership with Leicester Children’s Hospital Appeal.
Our children deserve the best…
Leicester’s Hospitals runs one of the largest children’s acute service in the country and has the second-highest number of specialists for children. Yet, the East Midlands is the only region in England that doesn’t have a dedicated children’s hospital. From emergency to maternity, surgeries to cancer care, children from across the East Midlands receive care from birth through to adulthood.
These services are spread across different sites and often mixed in with adult services. Patients, families, carers, doctors and nurses often have to move between our hospitals. This can be extremely stressful creating a disjointed experience and am inefficient service. Having services split across two sites can also delay diagnosis and treatment, increase complications and increase a child’s length of stay.
Please help us to change the lives of children like Hope and together with the help of Bubble Rush – Leicester we can do them proud.
Hope’s Story: The past two years have been difficult for four-year-old Hope and her family.
Hope has spent most of her life in hospital. She was born with a congential condition where her major organs are reversed, and only half of her heart works—she has a double left ventricle with a transposition of the main artery.
The complexity of her condition means that her care needs to be coordinated between specialties located at the LRI and Glenfield, meaning stressful journeys between our sites for Hope and her parents. Hope also currently suffers with a very low immune system which means that a simple cold that could take hold of Hope for months, and after every surgery she has been faced with life-threatening infections. Hope’s dad, Andy, says “Our Hope was originally given a zero life expectancy, she has already beaten this, but for how long we don’t know.”
The new Leicester Children’s Hospital will ensure the care Hope needs is all on one site, improving coordination between specialities.
