A sunny start in Blackpool for Bubble Rush 2018

Blackpool Bubble Rush Finn the Bubble Fish

The sun shone on more than 1500 ‘Bubblers’ in Blackpool for the first Bubble Rush 5k of 2018.  After a long, wet and cold winter spring finally arrived on Saturday morning (14th April) and the people of Blackpool rose to the occasion,  to dance, walk, toddle and run through the four coloured bubble stations; each one pumping out masses of frothy foam.

The family-friendly 5k saw groups dressed up in neon tutus, headbands, wigs and fancy dress to take on the two laps of Lawson’s Showground to raise funds for local hospices Brian House Children’s Hospice and Trinity Hospice. The charity has announced that the event has already raised £50,000; with more sponsorship still to come in.

Blackpool Bubble Rush was also the debut for Finn the Bubble Fish, the official Bubble Rush mascot. The cheeky fish quickly made friends with children of all ages, posing for photos and getting on stage to help warm up the ‘bubblers’ before the bubble cannons fired up at midday, and then cheering them over the finish line.

Blackpool Bubble Rush is the first of 45 colourful bubble-filled 5k events  taking place around the UK to raise funds for hospices.

With up to three events a weekend until October there are plenty of chances for friends, families or colleagues to join in the foam party and help raise funds for fantastic local charities.
