BUBBLE RUSH ANNOUNCES MARIE CURIE AS CHARITY PARTNER FOR 10 EVENTS IN 2020

We are very excited to announce our partnership with Marie Curie, which will see ten Bubble Rush events raise funds for the charity's nine hospices and local nursing teams across the UK.

Funds raised at 10 Bubble Rush events in 2020 will benefit the charity’s nine hospices and local nursing teams across the UK.

Bubble Rush, the fun run through coloured bubbles, has announced a partnership with Marie Curie,  where funds raised at 10 Bubble Rush events in 2020 will help the charity care for people living with a terminal illness, and their families.  The partnership will include the first Bubble Rush events to be held in Northern Ireland and Cumbria, supporting the charity’s nine hospices and local nursing teams across the UK.

Bubble Rush is a fun run for all the family – it is the only fun run event series with no minimum or maximum age limit. The events are not timed and are pushchair and wheelchair friendly, so they appeal to families and groups of all ages and abilities, who can choose to run or walk the 5k course

Since its launch in 2015 Bubble Rush events have raised over £1.5m each year for its charity partners, the majority of which are local hospices.  The relationship with Marie Curie follows the success of Bubble Rush – Newcastle upon Tyne, which took place in June 2019.  The arrangement with Marie Curie is the first time a number of events have been organised in partnership with a charity on a nationwide basis.

Participants at each event will be encouraged to raise funds for Marie Curie’s hospices, nursing service and Information and Support services. There will be opportunities for local businesses to get involved by sponsoring the bubble stations and other elements of the event.  Proceeds from all sponsorship income and event day activities will go directly to the charity.

Kelly Knighting-Wykes, Fundraising Manager at Marie Curie, said: “Bubble Rush is an enormously fun way for friends and families to raise money, all while enjoying a great day out.  Marie Curie wouldn’t be able to provide expert care for as many people as we do without the public’s generosity at events including Bubble Rush so I’m delighted to be partnered together.”

Extreme Adventure Director Diana Caldwell says: “This is a very exciting opportunity for Bubble Rush and we’re really looking forward to working with Marie Curie teams across the UK, bringing Bubble Rush to new areas of the country and raising awareness of the event to a nationwide audience.”

The Bubble Rush events that will be organised in partnership with Marie Curie are:

3rd May: Solihull
6th June: Liverpool
13th June: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
14th June: Carlisle
21st June: Reading
27th June: Swansea
